Southside Electric Cooperative is seeking a self-motivated, results-oriented individual with a can-do team mentality to assume responsibilities as an Accountant. This position is responsible for providing complete and accurate financial records and reports in accordance with established accounting policies and procedures.

Education: Minimum requirement of a BS Degree in Accounting; CPA License preferred.
Experience: with Bachelor's Degree - five (5) years of work experience in accounting. Prefer Rural Utilities Service (RUS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) accounting experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Prefer experience using National Information Solutions Cooperative (NISC) software.

Knowledge of payroll processing. Knowledge of MS Office Suite. Ability to work without supervision. Attendance at seminars and conferences as assigned. Stay current on new accounting pronouncements (GAAP & RUS). Attend and participate in Members' Annual Meeting as assigned.
Should have valid First Aid and CPR cards or acquire within one year from date of hire. Must be able to re-port/respond to work when needed. Must make his/her residence within sixty (60) minutes legal driving time to the Headquarters Office located at 2000 West Virginia Avenue, Crewe, Virginia.
Extra hours may be necessary during emergencies or when the workload demands. Attendance at seminars, conferences, employee meetings, safety meetings, and Members' Annual Meeting as requested or assigned.
