In support of this mission, Information Technology Services invites qualified applicants to apply for the position of Help Desk Technician/Information Technology Specialist I.
Provide technical support to faculty, staff, and students regarding networking, software, hardware, email, and telecommunications
Resolving as many issues over the phone with customers as possible
Creating and assigning work orders
Effectively communicate policies and procedures to faculty, staff, and students via phone, electronically, and in person
High school diploma or equivalent required
Undergraduate degree in computing, information sciences, or similar field of study, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience preferred
Experience in a customer service environment required
Previous work experience in a support related field required
Working knowledge of operating systems for Windows and Macintosh computers, as well as application software to include the Microsoft Office Suite required
Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently and provide outstanding customer support is crucial
Pay Band 4. Commonwealth of Virginia benefits accompany this position. A successful criminal background check is required. Position will be posted a minimum of five days.
