The Production Supervisor is responsible for the start-up of the production floor, making sure all employees are at their assigned work areas to begin work and that there are sufficient work loads at each area. They will maintain an even/timely work flow through production floor, maintain standard production goals and performance records.
Responsibilities include supervising a team performing a variety of job functions while maintaining a productive work flow, following and enforcing recommendations to facilitate more efficient work flow, maintaining quality standards, keeping workers safe and communicating with senior management. In addition, the Production Supervisor is responsible for completing administrative tasks related to the supervision of his/her team. The Production Supervisor is expected to become familiar with many aspects of plant operations, to include operation of machinery, loading and unloading carts and ensuring that soiled linens are processed within designated time frames.
Other Specific Skills Required:
- High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree a plus
- Outstanding communication skills; ability to communicate with non-English speaking employees desired
- Ability to think and act independently
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs on a regular basis and up to 50 lbs on an infrequent basis.
- Ability to push/pull carts weighing up to 600 lbs on a regular basis.
- 1-3 years of Supervisory/Team Leader experience in a plant environment, big box retail or food industry
- Good computer skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
