Rish Equipment, one of the premiere Komatsu distributors in the United States, is searching for a Technical Communicator for our Virginia branches. A background in troubleshooting and repair of heavy construction equipment is preferred. We focus on providing World Class customer service and offer a competitive salary. Job location is flexible.
The position will involve but not be limited to the following duties:
Build and maintain customer relations.
Assists technicians with parts identification and requirements.
Assists technicians with tooling identification and requirements.
Provides technical support to technicians for diagnosing and completing repairs using the most current repair procedures.
Provides basic technical support for customers.
Maintain liaison with machine manufacturers to ensure prompt and efficient technical support.
Provides interpretation and plan of action for abnormal oil samples and establishes communication with the appropriate Service Manager.
Assist Service Departments with on-site support to troubleshoot and document problems to provide information to reduce customer down time and costs.
Provide Failure Analysis services on machines and parts to determine root cause of failures.
Must be able to enter information, investigate and research issues, install software, and document all findings to keep history of issues.
Create and maintain monthly reports to track T/C call log and inquiries.
Must have PC knowledge at least at an intermediate level using Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
Install and maintain current CSS, INSITE and other service information on technician computers and track licenses for updates and annual billing.
Take personal responsibility for on the job safety for both self and co-workers, as well as the company by consistently following documented procedures.
Does not engage in risk taking behavior or employ shortcuts.
Always wears appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for situation.
Keeps work area clean and free of hazards, labels containers as necessary, and properly tags equipment out of service as required.
Keeps a good standing safety record.
High school diploma or the equivalent.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
Minimum 5 years of experience as a technician in the heavy equipment industry, with shop technician skill or higher.
A strong mechanical and technical skill required with Komatsu product knowledge is a plus.
Excellent communication skills are a must with a cooperative attitude, teaching skills and abilities.
Must have ability to clearly communicate by computer, text, on the phone, or in person.
Must be able to sit for long periods and work at a computer, be willing to perform shift work and must work overtime as needed or requested.
Required to be able to assist in shop or at customer's site with diagnosis and repair of machines
