APPLICATION SYSTEMS LEAD
Randolph-Macon College is seeking an Application Systems Lead in Information and Technology Services with experience implementing and supporting business applications in a higher education environment. TheApplication Systems Lead coordinates the delivery of application solution services for the college’s many administrative and academic departments and offices. The lead will supervise and work with two Systems Analysts to maintain and update systems, plan and implement new systems, and ensure uptime and operating efficiencies for critical business systems.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: planning and coordinating maintenance and support for a portfolio of college applications; estimates and defines time tables and project tasks; analyzes and estimates cost and time to prioritize work; change management and change communications; creates and reviews unit and system test plans; performs and/or leads system acquisition, installation, data integration, implementation, and documentation. Develops basic and detailed program specifications. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents, maintains, and modifies computer programs of high complexity, significance, and risk primarily for data exchange between commercial off the shelf (COTS) systems. Identifies and manages interfaces, service levels, standards, and configurations. Develops project management documents required to plan, execute and complete IT projects. Demonstrates good understanding of the business needs driving technology related tasks and projects. Participates in an on-call support rotation for mission critical business systems.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; at least 5 years’ experience with installing and implementing business applications.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Working experience in: product and vendor evaluation; information & data management; project management; higher education student information systems; leading technical resources to deliver new application solutions; web content management; database administration (Microsoft SQL Server preferred); database reporting and analysis tools (SSRS or Cognos Infomaker preferred); release management; system development life cycle; electronic content management (document imaging); active directory data management and administration; and service desk work order and incident management.
