Position Summary:

The Student Affairs Coordinator under the general direction of the Associate Director of Student of Student Affairs, will serve as an interactive member of the Student Affairs team. In particular, they will be responsible for establishing customer service-related relationships with students and managing activities and co-curricular matters for all Alliant's enrolled Master's and Doctorate students. The Student Affairs Coordinator will develop, coordinate, assess and make recommendations for special projects, major events, and activities in support of student success.

Starting Salary: $32,500 (Part-Time/Benefits Eligible)

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience: Two (2) years of student affairs experience or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in a higher education.

Preferred experience with:

• Supporting career services and office of accessibility

• Student affairs and/or student development.

Certifications, Licenses, etc.: None.

Skills:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.

• The ability to function efficiently in a busy environment.

• The ability to be personable and professional in working with, students, staff, and faculty.

• Sensitivity to cultural diversity and ability to communicate and interact effectively with people of diverse background.

• Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize task

• Lead projects on communication strategies, SharePoint content for student facing portal, website updates, etc.

• Foster an environment that is welcoming, affirming, and empowering for students of all backgrounds.

• Lead relationships with potential students, and third-party vendors that support International students

• Provide information to students about campus organizations and department opportunities and ensure campus organizations and students comply with policies and applicable laws and regulations.

• Oversight to ensure department policies and procedures to align with national, statewide, and districtwide best practices.

• Collaborate with the Vice President of Student Affairs to develop and submit forms, guidelines, and procedures for the department.

• Support career services and the office of accessibility and other students by responding to emails, calls and messages.

• Attend and participate in department meetings regularly.

• Perform various clerical duties such as answering phone calls, taking messages, scheduling appointments, writing correspondence, preparing reports, and maintaining records and files.

• Create and develop promotional materials like brochures, newsletters, flyers, bulletins, and surveys to bolster department functions. Operate a variety of office equipment such as computers, telephones, fax machines, and duplicating machines.

• Identify, make recommendations and lead department activities and goals by contacting academic, student services, and community partners. Maintain partnerships with programming partners, students, student government, and student organizations. Follow up with services as needed.

• Organize and deliver training sessions and presentations for prospective students, international students, etc.

Contact Responsibility:

Internal: Interacts with supervisor to receive general direction and instructions and/or review of work results. This position will work closely with all constituencies of the University to support both employees and colleagues in achieving success and Department goals.

External: Vendors or service providers engaged by the University to support organizational development initiatives.

Primary Work Location, Hours & Travel Requirements:

Office Location: Hybrid

Work Hours: Standard office hours; Occasional evenings or weekends may be required.

Travel: None (Unless required to visit one of the University campuses)

Work environment is in a standard office setting. Frequently exposed to low to moderate noise, various odors, temperature changes, and equipment with moving parts, including but not limited to computers, phones, printers, and other standard office equipment

Ability to execute those physical activities required to perform the essential functions including, but not limited to, regular sitting and being mobile; continual communicating both in person and on the telephone; regular keyboarding; regular reading of both print and digital material; and all other activities required to perform essential functions.
