Job Description:
The Program Manager provides administrative support and financial management for the Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) for Computational Biology of Human Disease. The incumbent coordinates the daily activities of the Center, directs program management of the goals of the Center, tracks the progress of junior faculty scholars and the mentoring activities of senior faculty associated with each research program. The incumbent also maintains Center data required by guidelines of the COBRE mechanisms, documents progress of individuals involved in program, and prepares annual reports of this progress, assists with program integration and website maintenance, monitors and manages budget, and ensures compliance with all grant criteria.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
• Required: Bachelor's degree with three to five years' experience in grant and administrative program coordination, preferably in an academic/medical research environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferred: MBA, MS or MPH
Job Competencies
• Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to develop relationships with University and outside stakeholders, effectively devise, and implement collaborative initiatives.
• Significant experience in grants administration and budget management.
• Specific experience and familiarity with various accounting spreadsheet programs.
• Demonstrated ability and flexibility to multi-task, prioritize multiple directives, and manage diverse job responsibilities.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Excellent organizational and computer skills.
• Ability to work effectively with the PIs of the COBRE award to maintain a sense of common mission.
• Manages a combination of in-person and remote work schedules as needed per health guidelines.
• Develops and maintains network of contacts to effectively coordinate program.
• Attends meetings pertaining to program activities and follows up on action items.
• Preserves and protects confidentiality of Hospital and research information.
• Possesses a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive campus community.
