Director of Finance
Seeking an optimal candidate to join our executive leadership team as a full-time director of finance operations. This position will assist our statewide nonprofit organization with all aspects of financial management, to include expense approvals and management – budget development, monitoring and management – grant-related invoicing – quality control – auditing/finance reviews – board of director’s participation and finance subcommittee participation – and development and oversight of sound financial and agency management processes. Serve as primary point of contact for staff/ agency/ contractors/ board / funders for communications surrounding finance-related transactions and requests. Our ideal candidate will have education/training and experience in accounting standards and experience working with the nonprofit sector.
Formal education in Accounting or Business required. Master’s degree, MBA or CPA candidate preferred; professional certificates or additional training credentials a plus. 5+ years' experience working in financial management; additional experience working in nonprofit sector, social services industry, with grants/government grants a plus. Knowledge of child care/ECE industry/adult education a plus.
Extensive knowledge & use of QuickBooks/QB Online, MS Excel; knowledge of Smartsheets, MS 365 and MS Teams a plus. EXCEPTIONAL technical skills are critical. Attention to detail, hyper-vigilant work ethic and ability to manage multiple ongoing, competing, time-sensitive projects - with numerous staff - in numerous systems is necessary, as is patience, excellent written and verbal communication skills & a collaborative, teamwork mindset!
