The purpose of this position is to provide professional, administrative, and technical assistance to the Director of Community Development. This is accomplished by implementing and monitoring CDBG and HOME Programs; developing and maintaining the City's 5-year Consolidated Plan and Annual Action Plan; reporting and monitoring the funding and status of various federally funded projects to HUD through IDIS; and acting as a liaison to various neighborhood groups and community non-profit organizations within the City.
Planning
Planning Technician
$29,823.00 – $35,787.60/DOQ
The purpose of this position is to perform skilled work regarding zoning policies, procedures and processes; zoning cases; and zoning complaints. This is accomplished by providing information to the public on zoning policies and processes, serving as counter support; working on cases for PC, BZA and CAR; conducting site visits; developing maps; conducting research and investigating zoning complaints. Other duties include reviewing site and subdivision plats; attending meetings; making presentations to boards and commissions; researching historical files; and filing.
Senior Planner
$42,434.00 – $66,621.00/DOQ
The purpose of this position is to support the functions of the Division Director of Planning/Zoning Administrator. This is accomplished by providing clarification to customers of zoning codes, land use, the comprehensive plan, flood plain data and census information; reviewing all applications for compliance; meeting with applicants to discuss proposed projects, accept fees, and providing feedback; researching property, structure, and project for analysis report; conducting plan reviews; performing field inspections; reviewing plats to ensure compliance; and issuing permits, construction clearances and zoning clearances. Other duties include providing GIS support for the Department of Community Development and the Department of Economic Development.
