The purpose of this position is to oversee the effective development and management of content critical to prospective student engagement across online advertising campaigns and the CCBC website. This includes writing for the web and other digital media, web content publishing using a content management system; coordinating work with digital media and other vendors, and supervising a team of 5 web content coordinators as they collaborate with subject matter experts throughout CCBC to meet college wide and departmental goals.
Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field. Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale.
Bachelor's Degree required, degree in English, Communications, Marketing or related field preferred. Additional certification(s) in content development, SEO, UX design, project management, digital accessibility or related topics, preferred. Five (5) years of full-time online content development and publishing experience and (2) years of experience managing projects involving the work of others required. Two (2) years recent supervisory experience required. Experience with web-based content management systems, Cascade CMS preferred. Experience with content management processes and web development projects in a large organization required, higher education preferred.

- Administers the CCBC content management system (CMS); ensures all website content is accurate, up-to-date and consistent in terms of voice and style and meets CCBC web content standards.
- Responsible for editing and publishing content on the CCBC website. Oversees content development and asset management in Cascade. Adheres to the overall goals of the website and CCBC marketing strategies and meets ADA guidelines for Web accessibility.
- Conducts content audits on a regular basis to review the site, ensuring it is current, relevant and conforms to CCBC Web Content Standards.
- Works with the Director to develop and implement goals, processes, priorities, and schedules for the content team.
- Develops and distributes content for digital marketing campaigns.
- Supervises a team of web content professionals to ensure quality, consistency and timely delivery of all web-related content.
- Collaborates with the Web Project Manager to deliver and populate content for major web projects.
- Leads the content team in developing, implementing, and monitoring content audit and update schedules for www.ccbcmd.edu; routes ad hoc content requests.
- Meets and works with content subject matter experts (SMEs) within assigned areas to source content for the website.
- Develops schedules and reviews existing content with SMEs for needed revisions and to determine continued applicability.
- Reviews, develops, edits and publishes content on www.ccbcmd.edu using the content management system.
- Develops content for paid social media ad campaigns, SEM, and marketing campaign landing pages.
- Supports web accessibility by ensuring that content on the website adheres to web content standards and federal regulations.
- Creates, maintains, and distributes content resources for subject matter experts.
- Coordinates with subject matter experts to enhance existing pages by adding or removing page elements and assisting with updating content as needed.
- Leads the content team in scheduling and administering quality assurance checks for the CCBC website to identify, diagnose and correct content problems including broken links, spelling errors, formatting, and accessibility concerns.
- Maintains training materials and documentation, including content authoring guide and site style guide.
- Uses SEO best practices to guide the creation of content for effective internal and external search.
- Works with the Web Project Manager to implement test plans for key site functionality such as search and indexing mechanisms.
- Works with graphic and multimedia designers to source web content.
- Works with contractors to test new functionality and design components in multiple browsers. Interface with designers and developers for coding of trickier page elements, such as responsive tables.
