The purpose of this class is to oversee the management and administration of learning resources, including library services at the CCBC Campuses and all CCBC Extension Centers.
Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field. Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale.
ALA Accredited Master's degree and eight (8) years of professional library experience required. Five (5) years of supervisory experience required. Must have knowledge of higher education institutional practices, open pedagogy, open access and open educational resources.

- Provide leadership for strategic and operational planning for all programs and services in the main campus libraries and extension centers, including the development and implementation of innovative technology.
- Prepare and administer the operating budget for assigned unit.
- Supervise and evaluate all assigned staff in the performance of their professional assignments.
- Oversight and on-site coordination of operations across the multiple library service locations
- Collaborate with assigned staff to develop, review and evaluate unit goals and recommend improvements, as appropriate.
- Coordinate the scheduling of services in collaboration with other College departments.
- Plan and implement new services to respond to community needs.
- Ensure the CCBC community has equitable access to library facilities, resources and instructional programs.
- Develop and establish active education and outreach initiatives to familiarize students and faculty with emerging library services technologies.
- Plan, monitor and explore the use of new library technologies in higher education research with library faculty and staff on a regular basis and facilitate appropriate training.
- Collaborate across academic leadership to plan, design, implement and assess the use of library technology and digital initiatives that support student success and retention.
- Serve as an advocate for the library's programs.
- Prepare and administer the library operating budget and coordinate with other campus units and the CCBC system in budgetary administration, as appropriate.
- Coordinate with other College units to ensure a high quality of appearance, maintenance, safety, inventory, and security of library facilities and equipment.
- Conduct needs assessments and market library services to the college community.
- Provide leadership for strategic planning and operational planning for library services at all extension centers in collaboration with extension center administrators
- Coordinate and oversee college-wide open educational resources (OER) activities including tracking and reporting OER usage statistics
