Deadline: 11:59 November 14, 2021
Safe construction from the ground up – that is our commitment to excellence.
Recently Community Development (CD) implemented a new enterprise land management software product that serves the entire division, allowing staff and citizens access to a single web-based software solution. If you have experience leading a team responsible for maintaining a software solution across multiple departments and performing analysis for system enhancements, we are looking forward to your application.
What You Do and How You Do It:
An Automation Coordinator in Building Inspection will be responsible for the daily operational support of a diverse team of 65 office and field staff. You will be supervising an automation team within the Building Inspection Department. The automation team is responsible for responding to immediate needs of staff and reporting issues to our IT Department. They will help you learn about what we do in Building Inspection and how we fit into Community Development. This group also maintains the department website and initiates changes and updates. It is important to develop relationships with the vendors and IT Department for technical support.
An additional responsibility is being the Central CD Automation Analyst Manager, providing division-wide operations and analysis of enhancements to the Community Development Enterprise Land Management System (ELM). You will analyze the business needs of the division and use technology to implement efficient solutions. Ability to produce Ad-Hoc and SSRS reports will be important. You will be responsible for documenting processes, procedures and training materials. You will also lead ELM content development for classes to provide ongoing training for new hires and periodic refresher training for existing staff. The vendor will provide periodic updates to fix known bugs and introduce new functionality. You will be responsible for leading the teams through testing those updates and communicating with staff regarding those changes as well as updating training documentation. It is important to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Perform other work as required.
You can expect a competitive salary based on your experience ranging from $65,101 - $96,055 annually depending on your experience and qualifications.
Here's What You Need:
Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, business administration or a related field; minimum of five years of experience in the implementation and support of business information systems to include two years of supervisory experience, three preferred; or an equivalent combination of training and experience with an emphasis on analysis, from a technical aspect, as well as a business process point of view. Experience writing reports in SSRS is a plus. Developing processes, procedures and training documentation is also required. It is imperative to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification is required.
Real Talk:
Building Inspection staff members include front counter permit technicians that process all incoming applications, plan reviewers, field inspectors and office administration staff all with differing levels of computer skills. The new ELM software allows customers to apply for building permits and pay fees online.
When analyzing changes to the ELM software you will bring staff together across the different departments and determine if this enhancement can be handled in-house or if you need to reach out to the vendor. Coordinating the analysis of enhancements across all CD Departments may be challenging at times, but we are confident that all we need is the right person with the right skills to pull it together.
