Chesterfield County's Mental Health Support Services Department is seeking an Emergency Services Supervisor to provide supervision to a team of 24/7 Crisis Clinicians in accordance with agency and state code regulations. Provide administrative and clinical back-up to clinicians as scheduled, including night, weekend, and holiday availability. Ensure prescreening evaluations are performed in accordance with state and federal regulations related to confidential healthcare information and Emergency Custody Order and Temporary Detention Order criteria. Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with local stakeholders and partner county departments, including Police, Fire & EMS, Sheriff's Office, Magistrates, mental health professionals, emergency room staff, private psychiatric hospitals, and state hospitals. Provide mental health co-instruction for Police Department, Fire & EMS and Sheriff's Office training in academy and Crisis Intervention Training. Ensure satisfactory schedule and timekeeping of clinicians on duty. Participate in management and other agency committees as needed. Perform other work as required.

Successful candidate will possess a master's degree in psychology, social work, rehabilitation counseling, nursing, or a related field; three years of increasingly responsible experience in the provision of mental health services to include two years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience working in a behavioral health crisis department, within a Community Services Board or outpatient mental health center preferred. License in applicable field preferred, i.e. Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Virginia pre-screening certificate required. Working knowledge of recovery, trauma-informed care, and motivational interviewing. Demonstrated knowledge of laws pertaining to Emergency Custody Orders and Temporary Detention Orders, hospitalization procedures, and commitment criteria. Must be highly organized and have experience in organizational operations, including creating spreadsheets, constructing, and maintaining staff scheduling, data collection, and report writing.
Current valid driver's license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, record must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within with preceding thirty-six months. Out of state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview. Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date.
