Chesterfield County's Information Systems Technology Department is seeking a Senior Technician Desktop to analyze, plan, design, install and maintain PC hardware and software in the county as well as provide technical information and assistance to staff and customers. Must maintain personal mobile technology as a condition of employment. Perform other work as required. This position is part of an approved Career Development Plan (CDP) and offers career progression opportunities and salary incentives, as funding permits, based on performance, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED and three years of desktop support of Microsoft Windows systems in an enterprise environment; or a bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and two years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. An ideal candidate will have high level skills at supporting Microsoft Windows 10 in a Microsoft Active Directory environment; high level skills at supporting Microsoft Office 2010 and above including Office 365; a working level knowledge of standard networking services such as DHCP, DNS, Active Directory and print servers; a working level knowledge of IT security principles including malware defense; Ability to adapt to a constantly changing workload with multiple levels of priority; Ability to complete assigned projects independently and within a team environment. Experience with automating, packaging, and deploying operating systems and applications with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) is a plus. Experience administering Airwatch, Laserfiche, and Windows 10 enterprise is a plus. Experience in the development of basic scripts for task automation and with audio-visual systems is a plus.
Current valid driver's license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, record must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out of state driving records must be obtained by the applicant and presented at time of interview. Record must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date.
Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/ degree verification required. This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent criminal background check.
