Position Purpose

This position is for a 24-hour 6-day session – June 24 – June 29, 2024. The Lead Mentor is expected to be available for the entire week. Dormitory accommodations, a meal card, and parking are provided – Dartmouth's COVID policies and requirements will dictate changes for the program. The Lead Mentor will also be required to ensure the mentors and students comply with HCID code of conduct and Dartmouth's COVID policies (as applicable).

This position will lead/supervise the Health Careers Mentors and assist in curriculum preparation and materials for the HCID program. This position involves working with high school students educating them about health career opportunities, college preparation, and important topics in the health care field. In addition, mentors will provide supervision, mentorship, and guide participants in career exploration and research along with logistical and organizational support. They will also organize and oversee recreational activities.

  • Curriculum development
  • Leadership experience
  • One year of experience in a mentoring, teaching, or leadership role, and/or experience with HCID
  • Bachelor's degree or pursuing a Bachelor's degree, with preference given to a degree in a health profession
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree preferred
