Company Overview: Since 2013 Fire Truck Pizza has been serving award-winning pizza cooked in the wood-fired ovens of our vintage fire trucks. We're currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Pizza Crew Chief/Head Chef who is not only passionate about crafting delicious pizzas, but also dreams of owning and leading their own business.

* Please note that a CDL may be required for this position to operate our vintage fire trucks. *

This is a full-time seasonal position on weekdays and weekends May through October with future ownership opportunity. We're based in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, but travel throughout the entire state to serve our clients.

Current owners are planning to retire within 3-5 years. This is an ownership opportunity to those interested.

Position Summary: As the Pizza Crew Chief/Head Chef, you will be the driving force behind all operations and play a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality and taste of our pizzas. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of pizza preparation, kitchen operations, and menu development. Your leadership will be pivotal in ensuring the highest quality and consistency in our pizza creations.

Responsibilities:

  • Pizza Mastery: Craft delicious, visually appealing pizzas from scratch, ensuring each pizza is made to perfection.
  • Kitchen Leadership: Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, managing day-to-day kitchen operations, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Menu Development: Collaborate with the team to develop new pizza recipes and innovative menu offerings, catering to diverse tastes and dietary preferences.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality, safety, and consistency, with an unwavering commitment to cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Cost Management: Implement cost-effective strategies for sourcing ingredients, managing inventory, and minimizing waste.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure that each pizza served delights our customers and upholds our reputation for exceptional taste and service.
  • Business Ownership Transition: Over time, transition into business ownership through a defined path, taking on increasing responsibilities in managing the business side.

Qualifications:

  • A CDL may be required to operate the fire trucks driving to and from events.
  • Proven experience in pizza-making and culinary arts, ideally with a demonstrated ability to lead a kitchen team.
  • Strong passion for pizza and food, with creativity to design new recipes.
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills to manage a kitchen team effectively.
  • Business acumen and a long-term vision for owning and managing the business.
  • Strong work ethic, dedication, and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Clear understanding of food safety principles and committed to delivering exceptional food quality.

Compensation:

  • $20+ per hour, minimum to start, plus tips.
