Digital Marketing Specialist


Job Summary
The Digital Marketing Specialist at FGCU plays a crucial role in the execution and enhancement of the university's digital marketing strategies. This position is pivotal in boosting the university's online presence, engagement, and outreach through the innovative use of various digital channels.

Job Description

Typical duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Develops and implement digital marketing campaigns that align with the university's overarching marketing objectives.
  • Develops and optimize compelling digital content for diverse platforms, such as social media advertising, websites, and email marketing.
  • Analyzes campaign performance metrics and utilize data from multiple sources to inform and optimize future digital initiatives.
  • Demonstrates expertise in digital design principles and communicate effectively with the design team to ensure the creation of impactful digital materials.
  • Enhances SEO strategies and contribute to SEM efforts to boost the university's online visibility.
  • Collaborates with different departments and external partners for the advancement of the university's website and other digital marketing channels.
  • Works closely with the Marketing Manager and team members to maintain consistency in digital and traditional marketing strategies and produce detailed reports on their effectiveness.
  • Presents the outcomes of digital campaigns and provide insights on their impact on overall marketing efforts.
  • Demonstrates media buying expertise and suggest ways digital and traditional marketing campaigns can elevate the university's brand and complement omni-channel marketing strategies.


Other duties:
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends in digital marketing and emerging technologies.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications:
  • This position requires either five years of directly related full-time experience or, as an alternative, a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of full-time experience directly related to the job functions.
  • Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in digital marketing and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Looker Studio, Tableau).
  • Experience with digital advertising platforms (e.g., Meta, LinkedIn, Google Ads) and SEO tools like SEMrush.
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Marketing, Communications, or closely related field.
  • Certifications in major digital marketing platforms.
  • Proficiency in multi-channel marketing, and understanding how to integrate various digital platforms for a cohesive strategy.
  • Two years of experience in a digital marketing role.
  • Familiarity with CMS, CRM software, and email marketing tools.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Experience with HubSpot.
  • Knowledge of A/B testing and data interpretation.
  • Understanding of web design principles and multi-channel marketing strategies.
  • Prior experience in higher education marketing or a related area is advantageous.

  • Ability to write content for webpages, migrate old content, and generate refreshed content.
