REGISTERED NURSE - $5000 SIGN-ON BONUS

Goochland Powhatan Community Services is seeking a Full time RN.  This position would provide care to children and adults who are living with mental illness/emotional disturbance and substance use disorders.  Currently the team consists of an LPN and an RN Supervisor who order take medical histories and vitals, ensure medications are sent to pharmacies,  maintain inventory of medications/medical supplies, give injections, draw labs, observe for tardive dyskinesia and other side effects from psychotropic medications, and schedule medical appointments. We have 1-2 prescribers in the clinic and provide telehealth.  This position would require the individual to see clients living with serious mental illness/serious emotional disturbance in the community and in the clinic.  The position requires experience in performing medical procedures such as administering injections, drawing blood, and supervising urine drug screens.   This position would be responsible for education, consultation, and collaboration with clients, their families and outside providers related to all aspects of disease management. 

Our agency believes in collaborative, Recovery based service delivery, so the ability to work as a team and communicate effectively across programs is crucial. This position is expected to represent this program and the agency as needed in the community and participate on committees and initiatives that forward agency and system goals. Qualified applicants must have a high comfort level with technology. GPCS uses Credible, a web-based electronic health record.  This nurse can expect to review data in Credible and utilize Microsoft Office products daily.  Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications, starting at $62,000/year. GPCS offers an excellent benefits package, including an option for free insurance for the employee and participation in the Virginia Retirement System.
