Applicants who have successfully completed the selection process will have the following benefits as an employee with the Hanover County Sheriff's Office:

• Holidays: 14 paid holidays per year, floating holidays included (2)
• Paid Time Off (PTO):
  • Less than 1 year: 168 hours up front
  • Years 1-5: 14 hours per month
  • Years 5-10: 16 hours per month
  • Years 10-15: 18 hours per month
  • Years 15-20: 20 hours per month
  • Years 20+ (through remainder of employment): 22 hours per month
• Highly Competitive Salaries: The values represented on the Hanover County Public Safety Pay Plan are subject to change every fiscal year, which starts in July. Each spring, the Hanover County Board of Supervisors adopts a budget that can include a merit increase for employees. Whenever a new merit increase takes effect, typically on July 1st, Hanover’s Public Safety Pay Plan increases by the same percentage.
