Light Duty Diesel Mechanic

JW Diesel and Automotive is a leader in light duty diesel diagnostics and repair located on the Western Slope in Carbondale, CO. Upholding honest diagnostics and preventative maintenance knowledge keeps our customers' vehicles on the road. Job Duties Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot and repair Ford, GM, Chrysler diesel pickups, and other customer equipment. Utilize vehicle computer electronics and software during diagnostic work to interpret failures and advise repairs. Ability to thoroughly document procedures on complex repairs. Perform full vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance. Conduct safety checks on vehicles. Maintain a clean and productive work area. LOF (Lube, oil, and filter) Diagnose steering and suspension, drivetrain, and powertrain. Understand light duty diesel performance. Prepare quotes for needed repairs including parts and labor time. Electrical diagnosis. Take trash out as needed. Routine maintenance.

Qualifications: Must have valid driver's license Must be able to lift 70 lbs. Position requires you to stand for long periods of time, use hands to handle, control, or feel objects' tools or control bend and twist, repetitive movements, kneel, stoop, crouch or crawl. Ability to keep a clean workspace. Works well in a team environment. Must have own tools. Understand basic concepts of how the diesel engine works. Basic computer skills

Education Education: Not required, but prefer a certificate from trade school in fields related to diesel technology.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $40.00 per hour
