Senior Account Director
Position Description
The Senior Account Director is the primary relationship manager for one or more clients, provides strategic direction for clients and is responsible for in-depth knowledge of accounts. This position is responsible for managing a team to service clients, including account managers and account executives, as well as contributing to new business development and corporate policy and processes.
Primary Responsibilities
* Provides over-arching strategic leadership for clients
* Works with clients to determine organizational objectives and creates strategies and implements campaigns to reach goals
* In-depth knowledge of client's internal processes and resources and generate ideas to enhance overall performance
* Provides in-depth analysis of campaign and segment performance and KPI data, developing data driven strategies to address program challenges and build on successes
* Builds trusting, respectful and collaborative relationships with clients and colleagues
* Ensures collaboration among team (including outside resources) and fosters positive teamwork
* Leads professional development of team members
* Creates training opportunities for colleagues and team members
* Participates in monthly management meetings
* Identifies company-wide challenges and opportunities and leads efforts to address
Additional Responsibilities
* Participates in webinars and attends conferences/workshops to expand skills
* Identifies cross-selling opportunities across company departments
* Identifies prospective clients and participates in the RFP/sales process
* Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* 10+ years of direct response experience (direct mail or digital account management), with 5+ years direct response fundraising in an agency setting
* Demonstrated success in client management and customer service
* Experience in managing teams to achieve company and client goals
* Experience in creating and driving long-term fundraising strategies
* Advanced copywriting/editing knowledge
* Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
* Advances communication skills in both written and oral with the ability to effectively present information, respond and follow-up on questions and inquiries from clients and colleagues
* Strong attention to detail
* Proficiency in MS Office - particularly Excel
* Some travel may be required
