Job Summary
Adult Education Instructor will develop and implement General Educational Development Test (GED) instruction, primarily in math (algebra, geometry, and basic math) as well 3 other subjects in the GED (Reading/Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies as needed). Instruction will be IN PERSON on the Boone campus and the Boone County Detention Center (two days per week.)
Job Duties:
- Develop and teach GED math prep and other subjects as needed to prepare adults to pass the GED exam. Including instruction in local county jails, 2 days per week.
- Track and document student progress including attendance and progress toward their academic goals
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor might include new student orientation, recruitment, and coordinating with other faculty/staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or Mathematics, or equivalent
- 2 years of relevant experience
- Must take and pass the Test for Adult Assessment (TABE) Level A (Advanced at a 12.9+ level) Must be able to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in and understanding of working with students from diverse populations is preferred.
- Experience working at the community college level is preferred.
