Our Quality Inspector will be a critical thinker with exceptional attention to detail. This individual is committed to ensuring all incoming and outgoing products meet or exceed established quality standards. While our Quality Inspector will work with the QA team, this individual will be a resourceful self-starter who demonstrates initiative and passion to learn and grow.

 

Responsibilities:

The Quality Inspector performs quality control inspections, checks, and tests throughout all phases of the manufacturing process. This position inspects materials, parts, and products at different stages of production. Quality Inspectors record observations and may make recommendations for improving processes.

  • Completes first article inspection (FAI) on machines, plastic, metal, assembled parts, etc.
  • Inspects and approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials. Documents results on an inspection report.
  • Performs visual and dimensional inspection on manufactured parts, assemblies, and subassemblies. Documents findings and submits report.
  • Inspects in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and inputs data into quality database.
  • Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements and calling for repairs.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following policies, standards, and procedures, and complying with all legal regulations.

Education and Work Experience:

  • 1 – 2 years of quality experience in manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Control of nonconforming products knowledge of preferred
  • General knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Must have basic math skills and experience with the following measuring tools:
    • Tape measures
    • Calipers
    • Micrometers
    • Height gages
    • Weight scales
    • Optical comparator
    • Material test equipment’s such as tensile tester, etc.
  • Proficiency in MS office, Outlook, etc.
  • Knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
