Media Analytics Specialist - Remote
Position is 100% Remote within the US
McClatchy is looking for a Media Analytics Specialist. The Media Analytics Specialist will be the Fulfillment organization’s lead in ensuring our technologies are being utilized to the fullest of their capabilities and explore new technologies that can efficiently expand our capabilities and open doors to greater business opportunities. In an ever-changing digital landscape, this employee will stay ahead of the curve and help put plans in place to maintain the relevancy and competitiveness of McClatchy’s digital advertising portfolio.
This employee will help us filter through what is technically possible and define our most effective and scalable capability set to keep sales messaging concise and compelling while driving efficient support processes. It is essential for this employee to have not only an understanding of the technical workings of our platforms, but also the ability to craft messaging to make our capabilities, processes and policies palatable to our sales and support colleagues.
This will include consulting on onboarding practices and operational processes to ensure that campaign expectations are communicated clearly and in a way that allows for the fullest utilization of our capabilities.
While they will not have an assigned account list, this employee will assist other members of the fulfillment teams and coach them in using new and more complex tools.
Strong candidates for this role should have an extensive background in managing digital marketing campaigns in paid media channels such as search engine marketing, programmatic display & video, paid social (Facebook/Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.), Native, Digital TV and Audio, as well as elite problem-solving skills. The candidate should be a self-starter with a drive to “get stuff done” to create incredible experiences for our colleagues and clients.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is between $63,000 and $73,000 annually. Individual base pay may vary within that range depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, relevant education, department equity, training, geography, and local wage and hours laws.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Proactively identify ways to enhance tracking strategies with our clients
- Focus on customer experience and generating innovative solutions
- Managing our universal tracking and reporting strategy across all tiers, including the creation and upkeep of scalable best practices and operating procedures and the coordination of setup
- Working with the Senior Director and Vice President of Digital Performance and the Sr. Paid Media Analytics Specialist to innovate business intelligence metrics from platforms like NinjaCat, ClickUp and AdPoint
- Serving as an escalation point for troubleshooting in our tracking, attribution, and reporting platforms and communicating best practices in a digestible manner
- Continually innovating and evolving McClatchy’s approach to reporting, attribution, data visualization, and reporting processes
- Collaborating internally and externally to formalize McClatchy’s strategy for the cookie-less future and putting together a migration strategy away from cookie-based advertising
- Evaluating and testing new platforms and tools to help McClatchy find new efficiencies and better tools
- Playing a key role in McClatchy’s relationship with NinjaCat, taking the lead on technical knowledge within the platform and troubleshooting errors as they arise
- Putting training plans into place for new technologies and best practices, and coaching other team members to help them grow their comfort level with advanced capabilities
- Being a thought leader in the media analytics space and producing content to be used internally and externally to illustrate McClatchy’s innovative approach to media and media analytics
- Constantly improving our data readiness and reporting output for internal stakeholders and clients - creating data narratives that are visually appealing, easy to understand, and that drive retention, engagement, and revenue growth with our digital clients
- Being a Google Analytics superstar; helping internal stakeholders and clients build data assets that enrich their understanding of campaign performance and build their marketing investment strategies with McClatchy
- Shaping McClatchy’s relationship with data and empowering all Advertising division resources to acquire, analyze, and make decisions based on campaign performance data
- Training all Advertising division staff on data, analytics, and reporting tools, approaches, and philosophies
Desired qualifications:
- “Best in agency” skill level in Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, as well as prowess in each of McClatchy’s ad platforms’ native tracking tools
- Demonstrable experience in technical troubleshooting and problem solving
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Strategic mindset and ability to identify ways to improve our organization and put together steps to reach that goal
- Experience building, managing, and/or optimizing digital marketing campaigns inclusive of PPC, programmatic display and video, paid social, YouTube, and OTT/CTV
- Advanced knowledge of the common goals and KPIs of the above solutions, including CPC, CPM, CPA, CPP, CPS, ROI, ROAS, LTV, and others, and an understanding of how to track them in various platforms.
- Experience working with third party vendors and partners and playing a key role in our relationships with partners and/or clients
- Track record of managing a high volume of requests, clients, and digital marketing campaigns with high accuracy and low error rates
- Experience with Google Workspace (Drive, Sheets, Docs, etc.) and comfortable creating strong internal guides within each of these platforms.
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university, or the equivalent education, experience, skills and knowledge needed to do the job.
- 5+ years of related marketing and advertising strategy, fulfillment, and execution experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience in at least one or a combination of the following disciplines: Search Engine Marketing, PLA/Shopping Campaigns, Programmatic Display and Video, OTT/CTV, and Paid Social Media Advertising
