Position Summary
The Vice President for Institutional Field Relations (VPIFR) with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) reports to the Lead Vice President for Institutional Field Relations, serves as staff liaison to institutions, supports the Commission's institutional accreditation and monitoring activities in accordance with federal regulations, and supports the peer evaluation processes. The VPIFR represents the Commission's values, mission, and goals in all interactions with institutions and the public. The VPIFR's work is critical to the Commission's monitoring activities required as a member of the regulatory triad, including the assessment of institutional compliance with the standards for accreditation; requirements of affiliation; policies, procedures, and guidelines; and applicable federal regulatory requirements. The VPIFR supports the accreditation-decision-making processes through in-depth understanding of Commission policies and procedures; expertise in accreditation processes and regulatory requirements; engagement and guidance of Commission representatives, including peer evaluators; and input into the development of new or revised policy, procedures, or guidelines. The VPIFR develops and facilitates training activities for institutions and peer evaluators. The VPIFR contributes to the advocacy efforts of the Commission through participation at regional and national conferences, funding permitting. The position requires extensive domestic and international travel.
This is a full-time, exempt, remote teleworking position but does require onsite presence in Philadelphia, PA, Wilmington, DE, and other locations when necessary to fulfill the work of the Commission. Evening and weekend work may be required when conducting Commission activities.

MSCHE offers a competitive salary with excellent benefits and work environment. The salary range for this position is $148,877 - $154,000. This is a full-time, exempt, remote teleworking position but does require onsite presence in Philadelphia, PA, Wilmington, DE, and other locations when necessary to fulfill the work of the Commission. Evening and weekend work may be required when conducting Commission activities. MSCHE does not provide work visa sponsorships.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree from an institution with accreditation recognized by the United States Department of Education.
- At least five years of professional experience that demonstrates growth and/or advancement in complexity, difficulty, or level of responsibility.
- At least five years of professional experience with increasing levels of responsibility, supervisory experience, and/or budget management within higher education, regulatory, legal, or non-profit environments appropriate for a vice president position.
- Demonstrated experience that conveys broad knowledge of higher education in the United States.
- Capacity for problem solving, data management and analysis, translation of policy into practice, and holistic, complex judgments.
- Experience with technology that supports the work of accreditation, including data entry into online management software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, and to adapt in a complex, changing environment.
- Ability to manage complex projects and details of multiple simultaneous activities within a team framework.
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment, with evidence of a strong customer service mindset.
- Demonstrated technological ability to rely on video conferencing tools to communicate and collaborate effectively with internal and external constituents while working remotely.
- Experience using a variety of presentation platforms and learning management systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products as well as professional e-mail and telephone protocols.
- Superior customer service focus with attention to detail and strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Terminal degree from an institution with accreditation recognized by the United States Department of Education.
- Demonstrated experience of higher education in international markets.
