Job Description:
The MBOP CCDF Department is the Tribal Lead Agency (TLA) for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Administration for Children and Families (ACF) Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) Program for the MBOP Service Area on the Moapa River Indian Reservation and throughout Clark County, NV. Caseworker is responsible for providing services to MBOP CCDF Program clients in the Southern Nevada and works directly with parents, providers, and community programs in their service area to qualify Native American/Alaskan Native Children and place them in programs that enhance their educational, social, cultural, and emotional development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the eligibility of CCDF program clients to ensure files are in accordance with MBOP CCDF program plan.
- Process new client files, acceptance letters, and all correspondence needed from parents, providers, and community programs in the service area.
- Manage case files, re-determine eligibility, and notify parents and providers of eligibility as stated in MBOP CCDF Plan.
- Monitor homes of participating CCDF Providers in service area in accordance to the MBOP CCDF Health and Safety Standards.
- Provide orientation to participants and providers and assist the participants with contracts and procedures.
- Provide resources and referrals to parents who need additional assistance in other areas of need.
- Other duties as assigned.
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Ability to communicate and work with professional and other staff members.
- Ability to relate to a broad cross-section of the community, including low-income residents and members of minority groups.
- Ability to work effectively with the Native American/Alaskan Native Tribal community and community organizations.
- Working knowledge of MS Office software.
- Must have a valid Nevada driver's license.
Minimum Education and/or Experience Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field; or
- Minimum of two years’ experience as a caseworker, or
- Minimum of three years’ experience working as a child care provider.
- Possess or able to obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
