  • We are currently searching for a tenure-track faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor level for the CACREP accredited Master of Science (M.S.) Program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) at Molloy University. The M.S. in CMHC program services a diverse student body and provides academically rigorous courses, incorporating clinical skills training with evidence-based counseling principles. Faculty have multiple opportunities to engage in interdisciplinary research and scholarly activities.

    Molloy University is located in Rockville Centre, New York, less than one hour from New York City. The CMHC program operates in-person and has requirements on campus throughout the academic year. This is an on-campus appointment with in-person teaching and service requirements.

    Faculty appointment entails the following responsibilities: (a) teaching graduate courses in the CMHC program, (b) supervising and mentoring graduate students in the CMHC program, (c) maintaining a record of scholarly productivity, and (d) providing service to the department, schools, and university. Faculty appointment may also entail fulfilling the Clinical Coordinator position for the department, which comes with one course reduction per semester. Additionally, Summer and/or Winter semester teaching may be required.

    Minimum Requirements:
    • Doctorate from a CACREP-accredited Counselor Education program
    Preferred:
    • Experience in counselor education departmental leadership
    • Experience instructing courses in counselor education and human services, specifically Clinical Mental Health Counseling
    • History of scholarship as evidenced by presentations, publications, and/or grant work
    • Post-master's experience in clinical mental health counseling
    • Licensed or license eligible as a mental health counselor in New York State
    • Experience in clinical supervision
    • Demonstrated awareness of issues affecting diverse populations
    • Membership and/or leadership in ACA, Chi Sigma Iota, and/or other organizations related to counseling.
    Salary Information:

    When determining the salary offer for a new employee, Molloy considers several key characteristics such as job knowledge, skills, and experience as well as internal and external equity. The hiring salary range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000. This hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation at the time of posting.
