JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: We are seeking a visionary and strategic leader who shares values such as family-centric focus, empathy, strong communication, collaboration, and effective delegation. The Executive Director will be instrumental in shaping our organization's future by driving initiatives that lead to sustainable operation through strategic planning which ensures the fulfillment of our mission and advocates for the children and families we serve.


FUNCTIONAL OVERVIEW:

  1. Lead and expand the center's efforts to serve as Montana's Parent Training Information Center (PTI).
  2. Champion a family-centric approach, placing the individuals, parents, children, and families at the heart of all decisions.
  3. Uphold and foster a culture of empathy, ensuring genuine care and understanding for employees, clients, and stakeholders.
  4. Maintain strong, clear, and persuasive communication channels internally and externally.
  5. Cultivate a collaborative environment that leverages the collective intelligence of our six-person team.
  6. Delegate responsibilities effectively, acknowledging team strengths to promote growth and efficiency.
  7. Engage with and strengthen community partnerships and networks.
  8. Oversee the development of educational resources and training for families and professionals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated leadership in a non-profit or educational setting.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning and organization management.
  • Commitment to the empowerment of families with disabled children.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Passions which align with MEC's mission and vision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
  • Able to start in late July, possibly early August 2024.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

  • Degree in Education, Social Work, Non-Profit Management, or a related field strongly desired; 2 years of related work experience allowed in lieu of degree.
  • 3-5 years of successful senior leadership, management, and administrative experience with a social impact/advocacy nonprofit organization.
