NOVA SySTEMic, the college’s STEM program, is responsible for a portfolio of state and federal grants supporting the growth, development, enhancement, and expansion of NOVA’s academic programs focused on CTE and STEM. Under the direction of the Director of NOVA SySTEMic, the STEM Grant Manager will manage and support initiatives by (1) managing existing and new grant awards; (2) managing and developing alternative funding initiatives; (3) assisting with applications for new grant funding to support new and on-going initiatives; and (4) support efforts to search out other alternative funding sources.
*This position is funded with non-continuous or non-recurring funding and is subject to continuation based on grant funds and the needs of the division.
Duties and Tasks:
Support the principal investigators (PI’s) of IET’s existing federal, state, local and private grants (NSF, GO Virginia, DOE, etc.) in the management and coordination of activities to ensure they meet grant outcomes within budget and on time.
Responsible for collecting and managing project data to support the development of reports on budgets and activities for internal/external personnel for grant reporting purposes.
Engage faculty and staff in execution of project outcomes.
Will support applications for new funding opportunities in collaboration with IET personnel and NOVA’s Sponsored Projects Office.
Expected to have regular interactions with faculty, students, administrators and community stakeholders.
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field; OR a combination of education, experience or training.

Some experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Some experience working with a range of stakeholders including hard-to-engage communities, local government, employer sectors, school districts, and academic institutions
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Business or related field.
Experience in an academic environment in program and/or project management
Experience in higher education environment managing grants and/or philanthropic gifts
Experience working with external partners
