The Richmond Commonwealth's Attorney Office is accepting resumes for the position of Administrative Assistant/Paralegal. This position provides support services for the lawyers in the Juvenile & Domestic Relations division. The qualified applicant will effectively support and manage workload for all phases of litigation as required and assigned. Thorough knowledge of legal terminology and practices is essential, as is an ability to assist with case preparation and maintenance of case files and other records. Excellent skills in prioritization, organization, communication are required. Some reception skills, including but not limited to answering phones and greeting members of the public with business to conduct, will be required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Maintain data in a case management system specifically designed for prosecution.
• Must be VCIN certified or certification eligible to obtain criminal and DMV records.
• Prepare drafts of motions, notices, subpoenas, orders, discovery responses and other necessary case-specific documents as instructed by a supervising attorney.
Organize, summarize, and file electronic and paper documents.
• Present a professional demeanor to the courthouse and legal communities and to the general public.
The salary for this position is $40,950.
