Management of all departmental staff, facilities, and finances. Develop and manage departmental budgets. Provide staff support to the chair in the areas of personnel, budgeting, business operations, and new initiatives.
Ability to create a professional collaborative work environment among direct reporting staff members that facilitates their independence. Ability to create constructive partnerships with diverse collaborators and stake holders. Ability to manage facilities include teaching and research laboratories. Demonstrated excellence in accounting and budgeting functions. Ability to work collaboratively with supervisors to solve diverse and emergent challenges. Considerable experience managing an office in a business setting. Considerable experience with budgeting, ordering, expense management, and budget reconciliation. Some experience supervising staff. Considerable experience with electronic records, enterprise software, relational databases, and Microsoft applications.
Some experience working in higher education. Bachelor's degree in Management, Science or related field, or equivalent combination of post¬ secondary and on-the-job training and experience.
