Web Team Lead (00723A)
Leading a team of programmers, this position is responsible for analyzing, designing, building, and deploying the Center for Learning and Teaching web applications. As a Web Team Lead, you will be in charge of designing, deploying, and maintaining a cutting-edge online learning system called Personal Learning Environment (PLE).
Considerable project management knowledge of a mid-sized web application.
Working knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (system design, development, testing, release and maintenance), including requirements solicitation. Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with both internal team members and external business stakeholders. Strong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes. Considerable ability for problem solving, attention to detail, and accuracy.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with the development team to determine technical direction and approach to systems design.
Considerable experience as a web team lead. Some experience in leading programming in higher education or industry environment, with a focus on systems development. Some experience in a technical leadership position with a focus on systems development. Some experience with relational database and non-relational database development. Some experience designing and developing enterprise grade software. Some experience with automated testing, quality assurance processes and tools. Some experience in several of the following areas:
- quality Assurance processes and tools
- project management of a mid-sized web application
- user interface development including the use of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
- developing complex JavaScript-based widgets for end-user interactions
-developing web applications in accordance with the software engineering lifecycle
-scripting and programming languages including PHP 7 and PHP frameworks.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Some experience with CI/CD continuous integration continuous development). Some experience with source control (Git). Some experience with JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Vue). Some experience with PHP frameworks (Zend, Laravel, Symfony).
Demonstrated ability to use Agile methodology including Scrum; some Scrum Master experience. Working knowledge of W3C standards, web accessibility and 508 compliance. Some knowledge of Learning Tools Interoperability (LTIs). Some experience with user interface design and prototyping. Some experience with debugging, performance profiling and optimization.
