- Prior advising experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including public speaking.
- Strong written communication skills and technical skills.
- Knowledge of counseling and student development theory or equivalent experience.
- General working knowledge of academic vocabulary and requirements.
- Effective organizational skills with versatility and problem-solving skills.
- Master's degree in counseling, public administration, or higher education.
- Prior advising experience in a college or university setting.
- Experience with academic programing and/or teaching.
