Job Summary

The Instructional Technologist will provide instructional technology, development and maintenance of course materials, faculty development, and support. Instructional Technologist leads development and support of Digital Innovation instructional technology resources.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field of study. Or B.S./B.A. in a related field of study with work experience at a level which equates to a Master's degree.
  • Working knowledge of leading educational technologies in current and emerging web design and development technologies as well as project management applications.
  • Working knowledge of the theories, principles, and practices in the development and maintenance of accessible instructional materials.
  • Some knowledge of learning theories, principles, and practices
  • Some knowledge of accessibility standards for instructional material
  • Good skills and demonstrated abilities in learning technologies including: Microsoft & Adobe products, and course management systems such as Canvas
  • Some programming skill.
  • Project management skills
  • Attention to detail and well-organized
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and publishing)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Applicable certifications or higher education in areas such as accessibility, Quality Matters, and areas related to instructional technology.
  • Some experience in developing engaging instructional activities such as scenario-based lessons, gaming, simulations, etc.
  • Some experience in translation of learning objectives into courseware product.
  • Working experience employing generally accepted learning theories, principles and practices for the instruction of students and adult learners.
  • Working experience in various learning technology development and deployment tools serving as an instructional technology specialist or in an equivalent position.
  • Considerable experience generating and maintaining technical support documentation for adult learners.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Some knowledge of and experience working with leading educational technologies in current and emerging web design and development technologies as well as project management applications.
  • Some knowledge of and experience working with Articulate Rise and Storyline.
  • Basic understanding of the theories, principles, and practices in the development and maintenance of accessible instructional materials.
  • Comprehensive experience working as an instructional technology specialist.
