Overview

Princeton Language and Intelligence (PLI) seeks a temporary Project Coordinator for the PLI blog and other administrative tasks.

Princeton Language and Intelligence (PLI), a Princeton University initiative, seeks to develop fundamental understanding of large AI models; enable their application to research and education across academic disciplines; and study societal and ethical implications of AI as well as develop methods to avert any harms. PLI is committed to keeping AI expertise and know-how in the public sphere.



Responsibilities

PLI Blog Coordinator:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the PLI blog.
  • Develop and maintain PLI Blog posting calendar, including outreach and follow-up with blog authors and potential contributors.
  • Oversee all production aspects of weekly blog: collect drafts and final blog posts, ensure posts have been approved through the blog review process, and upload blog and associated graphics onto PLI website.
  • Work with graduate student blog team to identify new bloggers.
  • Promote the blog posts on PLI communication channels.

Event Assistant Support:

  • Assist with all aspects of planning events including but not limited to venue selection, transportation arrangements, hotel accommodations, facilities, catering and dining arrangements, vendor selection,
  • Promote events through newsletter and campus partners.

General Administrative Support:

  • Provide general administrative support backup.

Estimated schedule of 20 hours per week, including occasional evening hours for event support. Work location flexible with some on-campus presence required. $30/hour pay rate.



Qualifications

Essential qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Two or more years of relevant administrative experience.
  • Strong work ethic; commitment to completing work in a timely manner, and a willingness to undertake tasks with enthusiasm and energy.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, excelling at multitasking and efficiently prioritizing high-volume projects despite tight deadlines with a bias for quality and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft and Google suites (Word/Docs, PowerPoint/Slides, Excel/Sheets, and Outlook) and openness to learning and adopting technology.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Proficiency with web browsers and web content management systems.
  • Proficiency with Drupal and Mailchimp.
