Medium to Heavy Duty Diesel Truck and Heavy Equipment Technicians

SCAFAR CONTRACTING, INC. is a general contracting firm that performs heavy construction and is currently seeking Medium to Heavy Duty Diesel Truck and Heavy Equipment Technicians at any skill level to join our team.

Job Description

• Repair and maintain heavy equipment, diesel engines, industrial trucks according to dealership and factory specifications.
• Electrical troubleshooting skills
• Perform on-site repairs & maintenance as needed

Responsibilities

• Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair.
• Examine assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
• Document all work performed and recommendations on the repair order.
• Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
• Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
• Routine Maintenance and cleaning of vehicles and equipment.
• Job site support - load, receive and deliver material and equipment to and from jobs.
• Perform Yard maintenance and improvements.
• Manage yard deliveries.
• Order and pick-up parts and materials.

Other

• Work with Yard Superintendent
• Computer skills a plus (MS Office)
• CDL is a plus
• Must have own tools
• Be motivated, proactive, focused and well organized
• Maintain high level of professionalism
• At least 3 years of experience or more (apprenticeships available)
• Garage located in Clifton, NJ
