Vice President, South Shore Medical Center and Ambulatory Services

We are seeking an individual with strong leadership and technical skills to serve as our VP of South Shore Medical Center and Ambulatory Services. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in leading a dynamic healthcare team and setting the strategic direction for Ambulatory Services with the overall goal of driving innovation and excellence in patient care and service delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Integrate clinical services within the health system, ensure high standards of patient safety and care quality and lead a diverse team of healthcare professionals
  • Oversee the strategic direction of South Shore Medical Center (SSMC), the Women's Center, South Shore Urology, the South Shore Hospital Center for Orthopedics, Spine and Sports Medicine and all Ambulatory Clinics (Wound Center, Pain Center and Cardiovascular Clinic)
  • Manage the financial performance of SSMC and Ambulatory Services, including revenue, expenses and achieving fiscal targets
  • Set and execute SSMC's and Ambulatory Services' annual and long-range goals in tandem with South Shore Health leadership, emphasizing the adaption to an evolving ambulatory care landscape
  • Champion a cultural evolution to enhance patient access, digital engagement, operational efficiency and staff well-being
  • Direct the SSMC and Ambulatory Services teams, fostering career development, mentorship and the achievement of both individual and team goals
  • Serve as the expert for administrative guidance, troubleshooting issues and optimizing operations through innovative system and procedural adaptations
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to oversee recruitment, personnel transactions and implementation of institutional policies, ensuring alignment with clinical staffing needs
  • Collaborate with the Hospital at Home program to ensure the seamless coordination of care for patients, both pre- and post-admission

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree strongly preferred; Board Certification in an appropriate specialty preferred for MD/DO candidates; Non-candidates must have a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Health Administration (MHA), Public Health (MPH) or equivalent
  • 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in a healthcare setting, with substantial experience in clinical leadership roles such as Medical Director, Department Chair or similar positions
  • Substantial experience in an ambulatory care setting with demonstrated expertise in Epic Ambulatory system operations, as well as managing an outpatient practice required
  • Extensive experience in strategic planning, operations and financial management within a healthcare environment
  • Proficiency in managing intricate negotiations, ensuring the equitable representation of all parties' rights and responsibilities within a healthcare context
  • Demonstrated success in physician recruitment, team building and leadership in a multidisciplinary setting
  • Demonstrated communication skills, including verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite and various financial systems
