Job Description
General Purpose of Job:

The Strategic Capital Construction Program Manager will assist the Executive Director in supporting the operations of the FD project management team and representing the department to internal Health System departments and external vendors and consultants. This person will be responsible for the project management of the largest of the on-going Master Facility Plan projects, as well as other various projects and strategic initiatives as necessary.

Essential Duties:

This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Associates may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.

Manage all aspects of the largest of the Health System's Master Facility Plan projects with budgets in excess of $10m, and other strategic initiatives including but not limited to:
Leading development of conceptual plans and budgets to support Executive decision-making.
Prepare requests for proposals and conduct meetings to facilitate hiring of Architects, Contractors and others.
Track cost and schedule through completion of project
Coordinate procurement and bidding of services and equipment with Supply Chain
Coordinate owner occupancy, activation and completion of the project
Assist in development of concepts and estimates for informing the capital budgeting process.
Serve as a main point of contact, manage and maintain trade partners relationships in the best interest of Sparrow.
Serve as a liaison between the Facilities Development Project Management Office and various departments, including Facilities Management, Safety, Infection Prevention, Legal, Risk Management, Security, Process Improvement, IT, Supply Chain and others as necessary.
Support the Executive Director in operations of the department by acting in a lead role with workload management, reporting, and assisting other Project Managers
.

Job Requirements

Work Experience • Minimum of 10 years of planning and/or construction of healthcare projects with budgets in excess of $10m • Minimum of 5 years of working within healthcare facilities • Experience in implementing best practice design and construction practices including lean principles in construction and process flow. • Record of incorporating principles of sustainability in design and construction practices.
Education • Bachelor's degree in one of the following disciplines: Architecture, Construction Management, or Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Specialized Knowledge and Skills • Ability to communicate effectively, verbal and written, with various partners including Executives, contractors, architects, engineers, and others. • Fluent understanding of AutoCAD documents and specification manuals • Use of PlanGrid, Procor, and other project management software
