Systems Administrator

The Systems Administrator will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, optimizing, and upgrading several critical University servers and IT assets. This position will serve in a primary role to several critical services, and as such must be willing to adhere to occasional non-standard work hours and be able to respond to emergency outages.

Bachelor’s degree plus three years of Information Technology experience in a large complex organization with two years of experience providing Microsoft Windows server systems administration support as part of an Information Technology department in a complex multi-server, multi-site environment or equivalent combination of education and experience. Active industry certifications from major vendors such as Microsoft or Cisco are a plus.

Valid driver license with good driving record: must be insurable. Must be able to drive periodically between physical campus sites.

Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection). Frequently subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside. Periodically subject to noise: There is sufficient noise to cause worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. Periodically subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. Periodically subject to atmospheric conditions: One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: Fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation. Periodically required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.
