Laboratory Administrative Specialist, Supervisor of Customer Service – Clinical Pathology Admin
Upstate Medical University is looking for a Supervisor of Customer Service to join their dynamic team of expert professionals.
The Laboratory Administrative Specialist will act as the section supervisor and be responsible for the daily operations of the Customer Service section of the Pathology department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing and implementing policies for communication with outside clients, oversight of the work queues in EPIC, reviewing laboratory orders to ensure that all applicable insurance and third party payer criteria are met including demographics, insurance and clinical information, and review for appropriateness of medical necessity and ABN requirements for medicare cases, acting as Department Liaison for Research Studies and Control Accounts, and the oversight of laboratory billing and telcor software.

Bachelor's Degree and one year of relevant patient financial/insurance services experience in a healthcare related setting, working knowledge of medical terminology, familiarity with medical coding and excellent written/oral communication skills.
