Part-Time Opportunity for Organizational Development Professionals

The Virginia Talent Accelerator Program is seeking energetic and engaging, part-time instructors with skills and expertise in developing and facilitating leadership, professional development and operational excellence content. Operated by the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP), the Virginia Talent Accelerator provides fully customized talent acquisition and development solutions at no cost to qualified new and expanding companies as an incentive for job creation.
If you love to facilitate, this position offers a rare and exciting opportunity to help a wide variety of companies, from small manufacturers to major technology companies, mold the culture of their new Virginia operations. Hours will vary based on client schedules, but we maintain a small pool of professionals in this role, so there is flexibility to work around your schedule. This position does not carry benefits and instructors must be willing to travel to client locations throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia, and occasionally to client locations outside Virginia.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver on-site leadership, professional development, and operational excellence modules as part of new-hire training
- Design and develop training content as needed
- Track and evaluate course effectiveness and employee feedback
- Facilitate training sessions in a manner that is engaging and energetic for the learners
- Prepare and maintain training materials (worksheets, presentations etc.)
- Interface with client’s leadership team and support VEDP’s Talent Accelerator leadership team to ensure all deliverables are professional and highly valued by the client
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficient in facilitating training courses for new hire scenarios, preferably in a manufacturing, logistics, or technical industry
- Expertise in adult development, leadership, organization development, professional development and operational excellence
- Experience facilitating classroom training with leadership and management participants
- Excellent presentation skills with an ability to foster engaging, collaborative conversation and encourage self-reflection
- Expertise in verbal and written communication
- Excels under pressure, in a fast-paced, high-profile work environment
Education/Experience:
- At least 3-5 years of training and facilitating leadership and professional development content
- Working within external and internal cross-functional teams
- Experience developing and delivering training
- Experience in adult development and learning
- Comfortable working with either a team-centric or individual environment
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience is required; advanced degree is a plus
