Staff Planner
ABOUT THIS POSITION - The Town of Basalt is accepting applications for a Staff Planner. This opportunity is one of five positions within our planning department. This position is an important part of the Town’s planning and development services team and is responsible for conducting reviews of various development applications including plats, permits, slope reviews, site plans and rezonings under the supervision of the Planning Director and Assistant Planning Director. Additionally, this position assists the Planning Director and Assistant Planning Director with various duties, including the review of special events activity permits, and providing support to Town Boards and Committees. The successful candidate possesses a team-oriented, collaborative and organized working style, with excellent communication skills, the ability to maintain positive relationships, and responsiveness to the community.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - A Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university in city or regional planning, landscape architecture, or closely related field along with previous experience in a planning department required.

The hiring range for a Staff Planner is $58,300 - $81,700 with salary commensurate to experience. This is a non-exempt position. The Town has some Town-owned apartments that may be available to a successful candidate.
