The Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery is recruiting a Part-Time (40% FTE) Speech Language Pathologist (SLP). The SLP will work with the Dysphagia Rehabilitation Laboratory (PI Dr. Brittany Krekeler) and assist with ongoing research studies, including data collection, compliance (IRB, consenting participants), data management and analysis, and conducting research therapeutic visits.

Essential Functions
  • Data collection for funded studies.
  • Research therapy sessions.
  • Research Modified Barium Swallow Study data collection.
  • Submitting presentations/abstracts to research meetings, assistance with manuscript preparation and submission.
  • REDCap data entry/maintenance.
  • Administrative assistance with compliance-related tasks (IRB, Clinicaltrials.gov).
  • Administrative assistance with budgets.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team as well as with Division colleagues to promote best patient care standards.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives within assigned work area under the supervision of Clinical Coordinator.
  • Take initiative to remain current in clinical practice through lectures, literature, and other educational opportunities.
  • Organize daily schedule to prioritize responsibilities including the integration of meetings, responsibilities, or tasks into schedule without negative impact on patient care or productivity.
  • Maintain confidentiality pertaining to patient care and all Division policies and procedures.
  • Respond promptly to communication (e.g., e-mail, pages and phone messages).
  • Meet and adhere to ASHA, state licensure board and Division clinical practice guidelines.
  • May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.
Required Education

Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology.

Required Trainings/Certifications

Speech pathologist license issued by Ohio Medical Board and Ohio Speech Language Pathology and Audiology Board.

Additional Qualifications Considered

ASHA-CCCs and ASHA membership.
