Job Description Summary:
The Psychologist will provide assessment, psychotherapy, counseling and support for patients and families with spine, pain or co-morbid psychological issues.

Job Description:
  • Provide assessment, treatment, psychoeducation and triage to outpatients with pain disorders in the Spine Center Pain Program.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team-based care within the clinic, including the Psychological Evaluations for Medical Interventions (PEMI) team.
  • Participate in the professional education of psychology interns in our APA approved program, practicum students, and postdoctoral fellows, as well as medical fellows, residents and students.
  • Collaborate with other faculty in scholarly activities.
  • Maintain flexibility regarding clinical assignments to further the best interests of the Department as a whole.
  • Participate in Department activities, faculty meetings, other hospital and medical school committees as assigned, Grand Rounds and collaborate in clinical activities and research with other faculty, continuous performance improvement, etc.


** Required Qualifications **
  • Doctorate Degree in Psychology in an APA or CPA accredited doctoral program (with an APA approved clinical internship).
  • One year of relevant post-doctoral experience in pain psychology or health psychology.
  • Licensable in the State of Kansas by the time of the appointment.


**Preferred /Qualifications**
  • Strong preference will be given to those applicants with experience working in a pain management program and with medical and/or chronic physical illness populations.
