Job Summary
STEPS Temporary Employment is a full-service, internal staffing solution for the University of Kentucky. STEPS is responsible for the recruitment, selection, and performance management of temporary employees throughout the University including UK HealthCare. This service center provides a valuable staffing solution to our institution by hiring over 1,200 employees per year and averaging 900 employees on payroll. This position will support the STEPS service center by completing administrative tasks to ensure all STEPS temporary employees remain in compliance with required trainings, orientation attendance, along with other aspects of their temporary employment assignment.
The STEPS Compliance Coordinator will be part of a dedicated team and directly responsible for ensuring compliance standards are met. This includes but is not limited to accurate STEPS temporary job creation, extensive reporting and analysis, as well as active dialog with hiring departments and STEPS team members. The role will also ensure all processes and standards around hiring and separation are met. Working with HR Manager / STEPS or appropriate team member to address any concerns identified. Collaboration with departments and STEPS team members will also be essential along with providing excellent customer service.

The essential job functions of this position require you to: communicate and build working relationships with staff, faculty and candidates from diverse backgrounds; abide by University guidelines; maintain confidentiality; prioritize and manage work effectively; provide exceptional customer service and positively represent the university; ensure work is detailed, accurate and completed in a timely manner; perform work in a sedentary position; repetitive data entry and mass data manipulation; interact with individuals from various levels throughout the university and work successfully in a team as well as independently.
