Required License/Registration/Certification

Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by either PTCB ( PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT); Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.

Physical Requirements

This position requires intermittently sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time and performing tasks with repetitive motions; and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to or over 50 pounds. Also involves some job-related travel (less than 10% of time); exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; and exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, and blood-borne or airborne pathogens.

Shift

Hours of operation of the Pharmacy are 7:30 am – 9:00 pm Monday through Friday, and 8:00 am – 6:00 pm Saturday/Sunday. The targeted shift is 11am-730pm Monday thru Friday with occasional weekends as needed. Weekend rotations and holidays will be discussed. Schedule/hours subject to change to accommodate staffing needs during pharmacy operating hours. Shift rotations to be discussed during interview. Participates in minimal holiday coverage rotation for our location open on holidays.

Job Summary

This position will assist pharmacists with medicine preparation and distribution in the KY Clinic Pharmacy and/or other retail pharmacy sites operating under University of Kentucky Pharmacy Services. Primary duties include filling and distributing prescriptions in a busy retail-based setting and providing exceptional customer service to pharmacy customers and patients. The successful Senior Technician will be reliable, punctual, works well within a team, and possesses exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Pharmacy Senior Technicians for Ambulatory Pharmacy Services will play an integral role in ensuring overall customer satisfaction and that a positive patient experience are achieved for all Chandler and Good Samaritan retail pharmacy patrons. The ability and desire to work and grow in a fast-paced, complex, and ever-changing field within a dynamic and cutting-edge pharmacy is essential for individuals in this position. Preferred Education/Experience

One year of previous work experience (in a related field). Prefer previous pharmacy tech experience or work/classes in medical field. Hired candidate must maintain state licensure in good standing. Must have 1 year of full-time (or pro-rated) pharmacy technician experience and must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
