Job Summary
The Research Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance of all research activities within the College of Dentistry with federal, state, and local rules and regulations, and principles pertaining to the Institutional Review Board ( IRB) and the IACUC, Reporting the COD Associate Dean for Research, the person in this position will verify that the investigator is maintaining records properly, coach for improvement, work closely with COHR labs in the operation/storage of specimens, maintenance of records,
The successful candidate will also assure all protocols involving patients and billing are following proper college and UK guidelines; Work with CGO in the pre- and post-award stage.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Extensive knowledge of federal research regulations. Ability to successfully interpret and explain regulations and guidance. Ability to assess regulatory issue impact on institutional business needs, researchers, and research programs. Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work independently on multiple issues concurrently and to exercise independent judgment in establishing priorities

Preferred Education/Experience
Experience with IRB and IACUC review process, working with regulatory requirements for human or animal research, professional experience in research administration and/or research compliance an accounting preferred.
