Job Description

The University of Missouri Athletics Department is seeking a dedicated and experienced Pole Vault Coach to join its track and field coaching staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for coaching and developing student-athletes in the pole vault event, providing technical expertise, and contributing to the overall success of the track and field program.

Duties will include:

Promoting the philosophy and objectives of the University of Missouri Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, including adhering to all Departmental, University, SEC and NCAA rules and regulations.

Developing and implementing comprehensive training programs for pole vault student-athletes, focusing on skill development, strength conditioning, and injury prevention.

Providing individualized coaching and feedback to student-athletes to enhance performance and technique.

Planning and overseeing pole vault practices, ensuring a safe and productive training environment.

Collaborating with other coaches and staff to coordinate training schedules, competition strategies, and team events.

Recruiting and evaluating prospective student-athletes, actively engaging in the recruiting process to attract top talent to the University of Missouri track and field program.

Monitoring academic progress and personal development of student-athletes, promoting a culture of academic excellence and personal growth.

Performing other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Head Coach and/or the assigned sport administrator or Director of Athletics.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in off-campus recruiting, budgeting, strong organization skills, excellent communication skills in addition to strong leadership abilities.

Shift

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm; Nights, Weekends, and Travel as required.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in related/ relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in a NCAA Division I pole vaulting program

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $50,000 - $55,000

Grade: GGS-MKT
