Job Description

This computer technician position is focused on supporting the faculty, staff and students in the College of Veterinary Medicine and the Veterinary Health Centers. No two days are alike, and you will consistently be learning new things.

Standard job duties include but are not limited to:
Answer inquiries concerning technology including questions regarding usernames, passwords, MFA, networking, email, general purpose software and hardware.
Install and configure desktop computer systems running Windows, Macintosh OS and peripherals.
Help faculty, staff and students get connected to the campus network via VPN from off-campus and wireless or wired connections on-campus.
Relocate computers and peripherals in labs and faculty/staff offices as required including updating inventory as these changes occur.
Research, quote, and deploy new hardware and software purchases.
Assist with virus/malware remediation.
Assist with classroom technology including projectors, cameras, sound and video.
Interact with coworkers and supervisor to determine customer support procedures that benefit the campus community.

Minimal same day travel may be required to visit and service offsite locations.

Shift

Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma required.
Experience supporting computer device hardware, software and operating systems.
In depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
Macintosh support experience.
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to lift and maneuver 50 pounds.
Valid Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with both Windows and Macintosh operating systems, computer management systems such as Configuration Manager and JAMF, Active Directory and Group Policy would be desirable.

Individuals who are proactive, detail-oriented, deadline conscious and can manage multiple responsibilities.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $18.00 - $25.00, commensurate with experience and education
