Job Description Summary
The Law School at Penn is one of the nation's oldest and most distinguished law schools. Communicating a world of ideas, the Office of Communications leads the strategic planning and tactical execution of Penn Carey Law's internal and external communications. Communications focuses on digital and print production, with services ranging from video and editorial content creation to photography, graphic design, event promotion, public relations, social media management, and a wide range of collateral materials.
Duties: The Social Media Coordinator, working part-time, temporary 15 hours a week, is responsible for collaborating with the Communications team to provide the tactical creation and implementation of content for social media and other emerging platforms, integrated with the wider objectives of the Law School's Communications plan, so that a variety of internal and external audiences are informed about, engaged with, and connected to the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School. This is a fixed term role ending 5/20/2024.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Highlight the Law School and provide key information about the Institution's innovative programming, faculty expertise, and impacts of student and alumni work and research
- Broaden brand visibility and deepen engagement with external constituents and appropriate social media influencers
- Create unique, engaging content and post across social media channels using best practices with keen attention to manage brand and identity
- Actively participate in developing creative, practical ideas and plans for long-range and short-range communications campaigns
- Identify social media trends to maximize engagement
- Contribute to editorial content calendars and social media posting schedules
- Engage in social media listening for relevant content
- Analyze and measure results across all applicable platforms
- Other duties as assigned to support the strategic plan for content on the Law School's digital platforms.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience with strong technical skills and a successful track record of managing variety of social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Ability to communicate ideas and concepts effectively.
- Experience creating or resizing images to fit appropriate social media platform.
- Outstanding communication and organizational skills.
- Experience with social media scheduling platform Sprout Social a plus.
